Hunting in Southeast Iowa By Cassie Dean
Every hunter knows that they are going to spend many hours in the field, before they can take their trophy buck. Here is a hunter that has been spending many years looking for a trophy buck, but what he doesn’t know is that his opportunity is around the corner. Cameron Hopson has been hunting for five years where he has only shot one buck, which was a nice eight-point buck that was shot during his first year of youth season. After hearing many great stories from his grandfather, Gerald Hopson, his father, Kurt Hopson, and a family friend, Scott Flam, Cameron was ready to be a deer hunter.

Future Hunter By Brian Sanders
I will never forget Jack's first time I took him duck hunting. I took Jack to Presley's Outdoors and got him his first set of camoflauge clothing as I did on my first hunting trip. He was so excited that night that he too couldn't sleep. So I tucked him in bed with me and finally after a few minutes the little guy was out.

Handing Down The Tradition
By Jason Forck
As I look at my three little children, I often find myself looking back in time to my childhood and remembering the fun things my family and I did together. While I grew up in a family that did not hunt, my parents were always involved in the activities I was interested in and also included me in activities they were doing at the time. With such solid memories, I am constantly looking for ways to share my interests with my children and be involved in their lives.

Knight Muzzleloaders:
A Gun That Every Hunter Should Have
By Cassie Dean
Hello my name is Cassie and every year starting in October of 2000 I would go hunting with my dad, Craig Dean. He would take me to go hunting for white-tailed deer with him. We would go hunting on our land in New London, Iowa. He would take his bow with him and get in a stand and then I would find a tree to climb and I would watch.
“Make sure that you don’t move very much, because the deer will see you,” he would say to me.

Handing Down the Tradition
By Jason Forck
As most of the hunting seasons are coming to and end,
I continue to look for new ways to keep in the outdoors even
though the colder weather makes it less comfortable to bear.
My family and I have still managed to enjoy the outdoors during
this time period and for the past two years I have taken my
family for hikes in the cold weather to look for deer antler sheds
after the hunting seasons.
