Presley's Midwest Outdoors Open
By MVP Outdoors, Special to the Pekin Times (12/12/07)
This past weekend the arrows were flying at Presley’s Midwest Open as competitors from across the Midwest attended the first indoor archery competition. The attendance was elbow to elbow on the shooting lane as 142 competitors registered for the event ranking from top ranking shooter down to the amateur level competing for medals, cash and prizes. The comments from spectators and competitors alike gave it two thumbs up. The level of competition in each bracket was tight with just one point separating the shooters. Our magazine, MVP Outdoors, sponsored a local Bowhunter freestyle shooter named Jason Forck. Jason finished second in the money division as some of the money divisions payed down to 16th place. There were many world class shooters like Jamie Van Natta and Erika Anschutz, both from OH. Julie Stover, one of our local champs, shot a 660. The Peoria area has a lot of top notch archery shooters who are represented by many local clubs and pro shops.
